Our client in Troy MI is seeking to hire a RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM CONTROLLER to provide support.

JOB TYPE: Full time. 6+ month contract position

SCOPE: responsible for all aspects of accounting/finance-related activities with the Design and Development (D&D) department.

RESPONSIBILITIES for CONTROLLER

  • Program & capital budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis reporting.
  • Create systems, processes, and tools for budget creation and tracking.
  • Tracking expenditures. Develop amortization schedules.
  • Engineering financial reporting including budget to actual, KPI's, YTD Trends, etc.
  • Research previous program costs to assist in developing new program cost estimating.
  • Provide support for Audits.
  • Recommend improvements and actions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE for CONTROLLER

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing finance / accounting systems, tools and processes.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Financial Controller for automotive, preferably as R&D Controller.
  • Highly Preferred: 10 years of experience working for a Tier 1 Automotive as an R&D Controller in the Design and Development area.
  • Experience preparing and managing engineering financial reports and budgets.
