Our client located in Metro Detroit is looking for an Accounting Analyst.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to monthly closing processes, internal financial reporting, data analysis and experience working with external audit and tax professionals. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

Essential Duties

• Assist leadership in month-end close process, including maintaining the general ledger and sub ledgers

• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and analyze account variances

• Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly reporting

• Support leadership in preparation of the annual budget and other forecasting

• Provide financial updates to partners on a monthly basis

• Support the financial due diligence process of add-on acquisitions

• Work with data structures to develop consistent, secure, and accessible reporting for designated departments.

• Analyze and interpret data to ensure high level of accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness for business leaders.

• Utilize depth of reporting and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables

• Assist with report development and design including analytic dashboards in Power BI

• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly data and acted as liaison between analytics team and finance teams to address data inquiries promoting cross functional efficiencies

• Experience in the areas of Business Analysis, Data Analysis and System Analysis.

• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Requirements and Qualifications

• BA or BS in Business, Accounting or related field required

• CPA or additional certifications that exemplify a desire for continued education is a plus

• 2+ years of public accounting, related consulting or industry experience preferred – practical industry experience is a strong plus (especially experience working in a small to middle market company)

• Experience working with multi-location healthcare companies or physician/dental groups is a big plus

• Experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analysis

• Strong knowledge of the following: MS Office (including Excel), Power BI, and accounting software

• Work with data structures to develop consistent, secure, and accessible reporting for designated locations/departments

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environm
