ASSEMBLY AREA MANAGER - ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN AREA

A growing and profitable Automotive Supplier in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area is looking for an Assembly Area Manager. Previous Automotive Management Experience is Required. This is a Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide necessary leadership and direction to create and maintain a safe manufacturing environment that produces and efficiently delivers the highest quality products based on customer requirements while achieving maximum efficiencies.

• Directed plant operations, optimizing effective use of human, physical and material resources to guarantee maximum cost effectiveness.

• Achieves product quality levels and service equal to or exceeding customer requirements.

• Develops and maintains a manufacturing environment that promotes positive employee morale through effective communication, proactive employee relations practices, and a team driven focus.

• Creates and maintains a work environment which achieves high standards for health and safety.

• Ensures best practices are followed for new technology and systems, which enable the company to maintain or exceed performance standards and to be a leader in its particular manufacturing principles.

• Operates within established budget and capital plan.

• Assists in strategic planning as a member of the senior management team.

• Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5-S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry to include a minimum of 5 years previous Production Management or Operations experience

• Technical knowledge of current manufacturing processes and systems

• Familiar with the operation of Stamping Presses, Welding and Robotics

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to lead, guide, and motivate all employees within the plant

• Effective use of problem solving and decision making skills

• Effective use of time and project management tools

• Recognizes and/or assesses degrees of risk in plans and actions

• Manages conflict and confrontation positively

• Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Outlook etc.

• College Degree or equivalent work related experience coupled with completion of various business courses.
