We are looking for a Sheet Metal Fabricator for our client in Allegan, MI. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a growing, Profitable company.

Needs to have a minimum of 5 years of experience, self-motivated hands-on candidate with a strong work history, perform multiple tasks while fabricating and assembling ACM and sheet metal products, according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to set and meet quality and production goals as determined by engineering and upper management. Management experience a plus.

Daily Requirements:

  • Determine machine setup and material requirements by reading job specifications, project plans, and drawings to fabricate or form parts for plastic product assembly.
  • Reading and interpreting shop drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer’s instructions basic production related math skills. Utilizing oral and written instructions to determine size, shape, and type of material to use cutting, fitting, and assembling material in accordance with manufacturer’s shop drawings specifications.
  • Operating forklift and side loader to move material from storage to production area.
  • Fabricating various composite panels from flat stock.
  • Operating shear and folder to fabricate various break metal shapes from various metal stock.
  • Fabricating various composite panels from flat stock unloading material from trucks by means of forklift and manual labor.
  • Experience on Brake Press, CNC router and Shear is preferred. Other duties as assigned, monitor machine operations to detect defects or malfunctions and make adjustments or corrections to produce quality parts.
  • Work in manufacturing operations to form, edge, and glue plastic sheet, and/or rod products.
  • Use calipers, tape measures, and other measuring devices to measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operations and ensure quality of finished product.
  • Report daily production operation, quality control, and/or engineering problems to supervision to correct deviations from project standards, minimize scrap production to maximize production operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years previous production experience and operating CNC cutting equipment.
  • Good math skills; effective communication, organization.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally, with regular lifting up to 25lbs, regular pushing and pulling.

Must have good vision abilities to include close/distant viewing, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Important $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary is based on experience and great benefits.
