1ST SHIFT CONTROLS ENGINEER NEEDED - MONROE, MICHIGAN

This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering a Lucrative Compensation Package - Including a Base Salary, Paid Vacation, Benefits and Profit Sharing Bonus. Some Travel Required for this role.


A growing and profitable company in the Monroe, Michigan area is in need of a First Shift Controls Engineer. This client is preferring candidates with a strong Allen Bradley Control Logic background as well as Fanuc and ABB Robots. This is a clean facility and candidates will get to work with new machines and technology, do machine upgrades and work with pick and place robots and robotics for Material Handling.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for controls engineering project requirements involving control panel design, PLC programming, instrumentation, check out support and start-up assistance. Engineering responsibilities include: Designs, develops, and implements control system (logic software and hardware) to meet machine and integrated system requirements. Develop schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring, and design equipment panel layouts on AutoCAD software. Will assist with initial start-up and debug integrated systems and the development of system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting automation processes.
  • Develop and implement process control techniques & procedures for automation used in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Analyze the automation processes & identify ways of enhancing quality, cost and throughput of those processes.
  • Work closely with production & maintenance departments to develop, coordinate & implement technical training for employees.
  • Provide automation support to production departments in multiple locations to trouble shoot & resolve technical problems.
  • Support company policies, procedures, goals & objectives.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 5 year experience. An AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent with equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Hands on experience programming ABB & Fanuc industrial robots in a material handling application.
  • Hands on experience programming Allen Bradley SLC 5000 & Control Logics system.
  • Proven experience with computer numerical controllers (CNC), Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Auto CAD.
  • Experience with working directly with welding processes.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required to effectively communicate throughout the organization.
  • Strong analytical ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Strong Interpersonal & Teamwork skills; yet able to perceive needs and work independently.
  • Data driven problem solving approach including root cause analysis.
  • Must be physically able to freely access all areas of the plant and grounds.
  • Have the ability to travel as needed to other plant locations via most expeditious means.
