QUALITY DOCUMENT CONTROL COORDINATOR - NOVI, MICHIGAN

A growing and profitable Automotive Supplier in the Novi, Michigan area is in need of a Quality Document Control Coordinator. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays & Vacation.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing all aspects of the IATF16949, BIQS and ISO19001.2015 requirements throughout the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• Associates degree in related technical field or the equivalent work experience in Quality. Lead auditor training.

• 5+ years of experience acting as lead for TS16949 and ISO.

• Experience with electronic document control.

• Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office and email.

• Prepare clear, concise and accurate reports and other written material.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with department managers, staff, and others encountered in the course of work.

• Reach sound conclusions and recommend improved procedures.

• Organize work, set priorities, and provide advise and support to meet document management needs.

• Quality technician training and/or experience.

• Analytical / problem solving abilities.

• Best In Quality Standard (BIQS) and/or Quality Systems Basics (QSB+) experience preferred (GM standards)

• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload

• Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function

• Be self-directed, have the ability to work independently and detailed oriented

• Ability to travel, when required

• Must be able to interact effectively with other team members

• Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact

DUTIES:

• Support external audits, coordinating activities in document control ensuring timely response to documentation requests for auditors.

• Responsible for overall coordination of controlled documentation within the company.

• Supports user requests for documentation and trains users in Document Control

• Investigates and responds to corrective actions related to Document Control, Training and External Standards

• Responsible for coordinating document change orders, facilitates review, approval and retention of approval records.

• Generates documents as necessary.

• Assists with ISO, IATF & BIQS implementation regarding Documentation and Procedures

• Assist in problem solving, implementation of corrective and preventative actions, and continuous improvement plans.

• Analyze documents and records management problems

• Conducts document and records management training for department staff; advises on appropriate procedures for preserving, storing, retrieving, retaining and destroying records in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed

• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Conducts themselves in a professional manner

• Attend training as required and/or assigned

• Other duties as required

Under the general direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Document Control Coordinator works independently and with each department to ensure successful implementation of programs & projects. Travel may be required with occasional overnight accommodation at various locations. Overtime may be required to meet program expectations. The Quality Document Control Coordinator may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant. Ability to obtain and retain a valid passport is required.
