3RD SHIFT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - MONROE, MICHIGAN

A growing and profitable Manufacturing Company in the Monroe, Michigan area is in need of a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Management System, and various other sources as they relate to the job function.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations, and takes disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Interprets specification, job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase productivity of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Anticipates, analyzes and resolves quality problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Coordinates time and attendance records with the Human Resource Department.
  • Requisitions materials and maintains inventory levels.
  • Communicates effectively with workers and management.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Must have the ability to perform activities of workers supervised.
  • Sustains clean and safe working areas.
  • Gathers hazardous waste drums for disposal. Signs hazardous waste manifests.
  • Informs proper departments of any problems, such as tool repair for tooling and maintenance for equipment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing and quality systems and their applications in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of customer engineering, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Understanding of OSHA and other applicable laws.
  • Proven record of Continuous Improvement in quality, productivity, safety, environmental and housekeeping.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and computer literacy desired.
  • Environmental training preferred including SPCC/PIPP, RCRA and waste management.
