We are currently searching for five (5) Calibration Engineers with experience or an interest in Electrified Powertrain. This is either a direct placement or contract-to-direct opportunity with a growing automotive supplier in Auburn Hills, MI.


As an electrified powertrain calibration engineer, you will be responsible to perform validation and calibration of hybrid/electric vehicle controls systems. The job requires vehicle validation plan development, controls software verification & validation, data analysis, calibration tuning, vehicle performance assessment and documentation. We are looking for qualified electrical / mechanical / controls engineers who are motivated to learn.

Requirements:

  • Strong in Hybrid and Electric powertrains fundamentals
  • Knowledge on state of the art electrical components (Battery, E-Motor, Inverter, Charger)
  • Strong knowledge in vehicle control system architecture
  • Strong knowledge in vehicle testing and performance characterization
  • Knowledge on basic powertrain calibration process and requirements for US market
  • Strong in EPA and CARB regulatory requirements for Hybrid and EV platforms
  • Strong in using MS excel, MS word, MS project, and MS outlook
  • Knowledge of control system operation and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge on E-Motor, Battery setup in test cell, test plan development and data collection
  • Knowledge on vehicle driveability calibration
  • Energy management and optimization for range
  • Electric powertrain functional safety and diagnostics calibration
  • Familiarity with DVP&R documentation
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR signal naming convention
  • Familiarity with standard automotive modelling guidelines MAAB, MISRA
  • Excellent team player
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Professional communication skills to interact with clients


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Automotive or related field required
  • Candidates with Master's degree preferred
    • Relevant course work and in depth knowledge is preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in Calibration of powertrain systems (any electric powertrain a plus)
  • Working experience with following tools:
    • ETAS INCA, ATI Vision
    • Vector CANape, CANalyzer
    • Matlab/Simulink
