Project Background
A global 1,000+ employee property & casualty insurance company is looking to Our client to help them in consolidating their data & applications into a modern architecture. Our client is looking to hire a consultant that is not afraid to get their hands dirty and do some very tedious data analysis, modeling and governance work. With 30+ Systems, one 40+ year old COBOL system for example, this is quite a unique challenge. We are looking for someone to assist the data team in building the Data Model/Data lineage and work with the Data Owner in building the Data Dictionary/Data Catalog. The challenges are found more in building the Data lineage and Data Models. Due to the unique environments few Data Modeling or Data Lineage tools work off the bat. We are missing data dictionaries, few of the tables have foreign keys, few primary keys defined, most ETL is done using views, and much is in a black box we may not have access to. I think you are getting the picture.
