Our client in Bellville, Michigan is in need of a QUALITY ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for APQP documentation/tasks as part of the APQP process
  • Responsible for planning and coordination of quality programs and activities to ensure the quality and reliability
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns
  • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system
  • Assists in the resolution of manufacturing quality issues and implement the Quality System to achieve TS 16949 and other required certifications
  • Develop, execute and/or monitor quality plans and quality engineering tasks, as well as, manufacturing process validations and controls to ensure compliance with established requirements and regulatory expectations
  • Develop training and coaching of manufacturing associates to build quality awareness
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data
  • Support the Quality Auditors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and part specific customer requirements
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing quality functions
  • Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Analyze customer complaints
  • Customer proactive/reactive visits (includes some travel with in US mostly)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required, (Engineering or other technical field desired) with 3-5 years of experience, preferably with a launch
  • Disciplined Problem Solving, PPAP, FMEA, and strong TS 16949 background, experience as an internal auditor is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate Control Plans, FMEAs, Process Flow diagrams, and conduct PPAPs
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on experience establishing, audited, leading and maintaining a robust quality system
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T and engineering drawings
  • Experience in PFMEA, process control plans and technical process documentation (Gage R&R's, Capability Studies, MSA, PPAP, Standardized Work Instructions)
  • Trained in and have knowledge of root cause analysis and CI and CA processes
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • ASQ certification preferred, but not required
  • Stamping experience is a must

Physical Demands:

  • Exposure to industry-accepted chemicals and noise
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility
