Our client, a Tier 1 Automotive company, is looking for a skilled Product Engineer to join their team. This is a direct hire position with competitive compensation and benefits.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering and up to 3 years related experience and/or training. Ability to apply root-cause analysis methods to field returns. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to publish clear, concise, and accurate Engineering Reports. Ability to interpret complex customer performance specifications. Ability to understand basic magnetic, electronic, and hydraulic physics.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works with the team to develop, negotiate and obtain customer approval of the product specification, including DVP&R.
  2. Works with the team to ensure the product design meets the product specification through complete execution of DV tests, thorough data and part analysis and accurate reporting.
  3. Supports Program Management for (HIPE) APQP process.
  4. Supports the lead engineer to ensure that the base-level mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and hydraulic physics are understood, modeled, and validated for the product design.
  5. Supports Design of Experiments (DOE) as necessary to support root-cause analysis.
  6. Supports the development of a thorough and accurate DFMEA is prepared and updated per the (HIPE) APQP process.
  7. Supports the design team in preparation of design review documents.
  8. Works with the product design team to meet the cost targets.
  9. Work with the testing group to insure the proper execution of the DVP&R.
  10. Supports the team to meet all HIPE (APQP) engineering deliverables.
  11. Works effectively with Program Management and the program team to execute the program on time.
