  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering and up to 3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Solenoid, hydraulic valve and transmission valve design experience
  • Ability to apply root-cause analysis methods to field returns.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to publish clear, concise, and accurate Engineering Reports.
  • Ability to interpret complex customer performance specifications.
  • Ability to understand basic magnetic, electronic, and hydraulic physics.


  • Works with the team to develop, negotiate and obtain customer approval of the product specification, including DVP&R.
  • Works with the team to ensure the product design meets the product specification through complete execution of DV tests, thorough data and part analysis and accurate reporting.
  • Supports Program Management for APQP process.
  • Supports the lead engineer to ensure that the base-level mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and hydraulic physics are understood, modeled, and validated for the product design.
  • Supports Design of Experiments (DOE) as necessary to support root-cause analysis.
  • Supports the development of a thorough and accurate DFMEA is prepared and updated per the APQP process.
  • Supports the design team in preparation of design review documents.
  • Works with the product design team to meet the cost targets.
  • Work with the testing group to insure the proper execution of the DVP&R.
  • Supports the team to meet all (APQP) engineering deliverables.
  • Works effectively with Program Management and the program team to execute the program on time.
