LEAD PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - ADRIAN, MICHIGAN

A growing and profitable Automotive Supplier in Adrian, Michigan is in need of a Lead Production Supervisor. Looking for candidates with previous Automotive Supervision and Stamping or Welding expertise. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain) are supported and adhered to.
  • Conducts investigation with HR or Joint Health & Safety representative on work-related accidents and compiles report on results..
  • Provide necessary leadership and direction to create and maintain a safe manufacturing environment that produces and efficiently delivers the highest quality products based on customer requirements while achieving maximum efficiencies
  • Communicates with Quality to ensure consistent application of quality processes/procedures
  • Ensures all resources (maintenance, tooling, engineering, quality, & materials) are effectively utilized to maximize all value-added activities that support the overall business needs with high emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Stimulates the problem-solving process by empowering and motivating others to make improvements – highlighting opportunities/possible solutions
  • Participates in any activities or projects that promote continuous improvement
  • Work with HR to ensure appropriate staffing at each work center
  • Review data entries made by Group Leader’s to ensure accuracy and timely reporting
  • Lead/moderate Level 2 meetings
  • Distributes all work in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Adhere to the escalation procedures designated by the plant and or department manager
  • Any other reasonable request made by management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a Manufacturing / Automotive Industry to include previous supervisory experience
  • Proven history of leading, and coaching teams of 50 or more direct and indirect labor units to achieve maximum efficiencies in safety, quality and productivity
  • Excellent understanding of machinery / equipment, stamping presses, assembly machinery, etc.
  • Knowledge & understanding of lean manufacturing process (5s, 7 wastes, standard work, Kanban, milk run)
  • Ability to conduct machine and process cycle time studies, calculate PPH, scrap %, read and follow standardized work
  • Sound understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO14001 requirements
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, i.e. Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights, etc.
