Chief Financial Officer

Our client is in need of a highly-skilled and highly motivated Accounting and Finance Professional to fill the role of their Chief Financial Officer. This person report directly to the President, CEO and will provide leadership over all financial & accounting activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


  • Ensure that US consolidated financial statements are prepared timely in compliance with US GAAP. This includes monthly financial reporting packages and preparation of annual statements with footnotes.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets and reports.
  • Analyze the financial details of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
  • Coordinate interactions with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit in an efficient manner.
  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Issue monthly forecast with accuracy and variance analysis compare to budget.
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management and accounting.
  • Provides management with timely reviews of organizations financial status and progress.
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
  • Provide advice to divisions on accounting matters.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Oversight of researching accounting/GAAP issues, documentation of company accounting policies & procedures, ad hoc analysis, and the preparation of various reports for internal use and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Manage a staff of Accounting/ Finance Professionals.


  • 10+ years’ total experience including working within the automotive or manufacturing industries; + public accounting experience; able to show significant career progression.
  • Established project management skills
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication experience is required.
  • Significant experience in managing a large professional staff if required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to create and maintain productive work relationships
  • Lead/Supervise financial reporting staff.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial expertise and skills to effectively deliver the responsibilities outlined above including knowledge and familiarization with financial systems and other appropriate software.
  • Team-oriented and able to perform tasks where time management is key.
  • Significant capability, drive and initiative to create and manage own work agenda.
  • Ability and desire to progress to greater levels of financial management responsibility.


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required

MBA or Masters of Accounting preferred and CPA required
