Our client in Vandalia, Ohio is in need of a MANUFACTURING ENGINEER.

SUMMARY

This position supports all aspects of manufacturing, with the primary focus on existing medical assemblies and new medical products in the developmental stages. This support consists of working with Product Development Engineers (PDE’s) in the early phases of JEPDS to assure manufacturability, as well as improvements to support scale-up of existing products. With this early definition of the production requirements, the Process Development Engineer identifies, evaluates and recommends the required capital equipment, as well as develops any new processes which may be required prior to product release, minimizing the time required to transition to production. For medical products the Toll Gate Process is also a requirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with product development engineers during development phase to understand product, and identify process requirements. Develop new processes to assure robust production process.
  • Contribute in the development of current additive manufacturing methods for High volume production.
  • Monitor existing processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Define and source required equipment and/or tooling required to reliably produce product.
  • Documentation of all development & processes for new products, including; PFMEA’s, Process capability studies, DOE’s, Process verification reports, IQ/OQ/PQ reports, Work Instructions & control plans.
  • Participate in design reviews to develop and propose preferred and capable manufacturing processes and feedback on the manufacturability in order to reach a good Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
  • Training of direct labor in newly developed processes to ensure smooth transition to production
  • Leading improvement, plan, develop, revise and document existing manufacturing processes to meet cost, quality, scrap, capacity & safety goals. Specify improved methods to monitor these processes & measure key product characteristics based on process performance data.
  • Be an active member of a cross functional team (CFT) for new product development

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, or similar).
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • 3+ Years Previous experience in legacy product manufacturing support
  • 3+ Years Previous experience in value added assembly manufacturing support
  • 3+ Years Previous experience in a manufacturing new product development environment
  • Familiar with Electromechanical Machines including sensors and controls
  • Previous experience in flexible printers circuits
  • Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks
  • Product launch experience, including knowledge of IQ/OQ/PQ, PFMEA’s & Control Plans.
  • Verbal and written communication in English.
  • Medical Devise experience
