Looking for a PLANT MANAGER for our client located in the greater Jackson, MI area.

SUMMARY

Supervises a manufacturing operations support staff scheduling press operations, raw materials and die movement, finished goods staging, machine and tool maintenance, and WIP quality assurance in such a way as to maximize available capacity while meeting customer service performance objectives. WIP includes the parts washer, welders, clipper and secondary operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Effectively utilize capacity available to maximize profits while meeting customer service product availability, quality, and on-time delivery objectives.
  2. Provides administrative support to the manufacturing operation by maintaining effective employee development programs which includes employee evaluations, employee interaction, education counseling and team building.
  3. Maintains maximum inventory accuracy on WIP inventories through facilitation of “best practices” scheduling and tracking techniques. Oversees shipping and receiving departments.
  4. Provides support to quality assurance by working to maintain a “zero-defect” environment through effective SPC program development and administration and a thorough working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 policies and procedures.
  5. Initiate CAPA.
  6. Commits to the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Quality and Environmental Management systems.
  7. Tracks non-conforming WIP materials and processing techniques, making improvement recommendations based upon data collected and analyzed.
  8. Responsible for tracking/charting significant aspects/objectives/targets as a result of the environmental compliance audit.
  9. Responsible to the following groups: APQP, DOG/CI, Senior Managers, QOS, Tool Room Meetings, Daily and Weekly Production Meetings, Facilities, and MRB. Coordinates with HR all safety issues and training including OSHA

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  1. Is legally authorized to work in the United States on a Full-time basis.
  2. Works under the supervision of the President.
  3. Able to operate Company vehicle and meet insurance carrier requirements.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

APICS Certification desirable.
