Our client in Plymouth, Michigan is in need of a Quality Manager - ERP

Summary:
This position is a full time role which participates on a cross-functional team to develop the inputs and the outputs for the quality function in an ERP (Plex) system.

The quality manager will act as the lead and provide support for shop floor and lean matters on the ERP team. This role will travel for the first three years across North America manufacturing facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the cross-functional team on all quality related activities. This team may consist of internal and external members.
  • Drive a common quality practice within the ERP (Plex) system across the enterprise.
  • Define and develop process inputs and outputs for business and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and oversee data gathering relating to quality in the form of control plans, check sheets, product acceptance criteria, measurement system criteria and data collection.
  • Write reports and provide progress reports to the Plex team and corporate quality as required.
  • Achieve goals of the project.
  • Liaise with quality functions at all levels of the organization.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree – quality or industrial engineering related field

6-7 years’ of working experience in a quality lead related function.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience in developing and documenting process maps, value stream maps, for quality or lean systems and processes.Working knowledge of ISO/TS16949 standard
  • Proficient in AIAG Core Quality Tools - APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC
  • Problem Solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Cause and Effect, etc.Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledgeable in training techniques
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including listening and persuasion
  • Experienced in quality system and process audits
  • Proficient in complex problem-solving techniques (Six Sigma, Shainin, etc)Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Data collection and statistical analysis; Minitab preferred
  • Knowledge of processes used in manufacturing facility, customer facilities, and supplier facilities
  • MS Office, Project, Visio, etc.
