Our client in Detroit, MI is seeking a Project Manager - Electronic Controls Systems (ECS). This is an opportunity for the right candidate to get involved with Electronic Control System development for the future. The Project Manager will prepare management level program status reports, manage risk, resolve program issues, track and control program spending, manage a client relationship as the point of contact for the projects, engage in technical aspects of the project, and provide technical guidance to align the project with the customer’s needs and interface with the customers or suppliers directly on a daily basis throughout the life cycle of the program.

  • Manage fixed timeline projects within a budget that complies with the project plan and statement of work.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver client solutions that achieve measurable business results and customer requirements
  • Technical understanding of the project tasks
  • Able to make decisions and compromises based on technical input from engineers\
  • Build and manage client relationships at a customer entry and senior role
  • Install proper project management processes and metrics to track and measure project success Insure that baseline requirements are captured, tracked, and understood
  • Establish project milestones, definition of project tasks, plan execution tasks, identify key dependencies, define and manage key milestones and deliverables
  • Develop controls systems and method to accurately monitor and measure program and progress, identify program risks and develop action plans
  • Communicate project status, issues, SW metrics and recommended mitigation plans to cross-functional core, executive teams, and customer


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred from an accredited ABET or ABET equivalent school. OR pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience in program management, project leadership, and/or account management
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams as well as coordinate multiple projects
  • Ability to learn new concepts
  • Ability to set clear objectives
  • Effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative and execution skills
  • Extensive experience in client interfacing role is preferred
  • Involvement in multiple software development life cycles
  • Knowledge of SW delivery methods and SW development processes
  • Proficient in the Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel preferred
  • Change Management expert and enabler on various projects and programs
