A growing and profitable Automotive Supplier in the Detroit, Michigan area is in need of a Maintenance Manager with Stamping Expertise. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.


Coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Manages associates in the Maintenance department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


• Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.

• Schedules repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools & equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

• Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.

• Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.

• Reviews production, quality control, maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

• Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.

• Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.

• Directs training of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.

• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

• Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.

• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

• Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.

• Enforces MIOSHA and Safety Regulations.

• Performs all duties and operates all machinery & equipment in accordance with MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, face shields, etc.)

• Performs activities of workers supervised.

• Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties.

• Keeps work areas clean and orderly.

• Participates in continuous improvement activities.

• Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.

TS 16949/ ISO 14001

All associates are required to conform to TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards and procedures.

Champions TS 16949 and ISO 14001 compliance for maintenance department.


Ability to Communicate well with all levels of the Plant or Organization
Previous Automotive Maintenance Management Experience
Good Leadership & Management Skills are needed
A Bachelor's Degree is Desired but not Required
Automotive Stamping and Welding Expertise
Machine and Press Repair Knowledge
Ability to Troubleshoot Equipment
Microsoft Word and Excel
