Our client in Birmingham is seeking to hire a talented Director of Human Resources.


As the Director of Human Resources, you will work closely with the functional leaders across the business to develop and implement HR strategy and initiative. This position is accountable for the core HR functions of the company: employee relations, labor relations, benefits, compensation, payroll and compliance. This role is a balance of tactical and strategic responsibilities, working closely with other departments.


  • Serve as a key leader in the HR function, supporting the creation, development and execution of HR strategy that is aligned with the business’ strategic direction
  • Coach and provide direction to the team on HR related matters as well as advise on the creation and review of internal policies.
  • Demonstrate and maintain knowledge/leadership in HR processes, including but not limited to; compensation, benefits, payroll, workforce planning, employee relations, etc.
  • Lead continuous improvement of HR processes by identifying areas of improvement or opportunity and developing and implementing plans to address them.
  • Oversee the organization’s recruitment, interview, hiring, and onboarding processes.
  • Assist in the development of compensation packages as well as effectively handle employee benefits and structure to attract top talent.
  • Continuously work to improve retention and cultivation of overall employee morale and wellness.
  • Lead’s company’s compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including but not limited to; EEO, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, CARES Act, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains company records and reports and the ability to direct others in the organization on adherence to record-keeping guidelines.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR department.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Candidates for this Director of Human Resources role should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in HR processes and systems, including benefits administration compensation practices and employee relations.
  • Experience in leading/project management of talent related HR fields: organizational development, performance management, talent acquisition and workforce planning.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment.
  • Experience in the implementation and maintenance of HRIS systems.
