Our client is looking for a highly motivated, self-directed HR Generalist located in Shelby Township Twp, MI.

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist performs a variety of professional and administrative work in human resources, such as payroll, employee relations, training and development. Position requires 75% local travel to multiple sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with training management in interviewing, hiring, warnings, write-ups, terminations, and harassment.
  • Audit employee manual and update as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal laws and statutes including labor laws and other governmental regulations, which are directly applicable to the company.
  • Run payroll every other week.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers benefits programs.
  • Manages worker’s compensation process and tracking claims. Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
  • Keep abreast of HR related material through trade publications, papers, seminars and classes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in HR management preferred.
  • 3-5 years related experience required.
  • Fast Food/Restaurant industry experience highly preferred.
  • Strong Training & Development experience
  • Ability to do local travel 75% of the time.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and comfortably with all employees.
  • Ability to be self-directed and able to work on multiple priorities with minimal supervision and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work based on deadlines; excellent time management skills are required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy highly critical in this role
  • Problem solver and ability to hit the ground running
