MASTER SCHEDULER - ADRIAN, MICHIGAN

A growing and profitable Automotive Supplier in the Adrian, Michigan area is in need of a Master Scheduler. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Plant areas with daily/weekly schedules outlining required output as per customer requirements.
  • Monitors performance in all plant areas and communicates daily with Area Leaders and Supervisors.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all inventories such as components, work in process and finished goods for the plant.
  • Generates and distributes daily /weekly production schedules for all production departments.
  • Produces daily/weekly/monthly reports as required.
  • Maintains SAP master files (i.e. MRP data) as required.
  • Follows-up with Customer Service on any shortage issues.
  • Performs cycle counts on a regular basis to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Initiates and/or analyzes overall inventory for yield variances and discrepancies on a daily basis.
  • Investigates the daily controlling goods issued (COGI) on SAP report, and makes appropriate adjustments.
  • Participates in demand editing/MRP process on a weekly basis.
  • Sends weekly releases to suppliers and works directly with suppliers to ensure releases are understood and confirmed to a level of mutual satisfaction.
  • Maintains MRP planning data (lead times, lot sizes etc.) for all parts.
  • Schedules equipment PM’s for production based on required schedule from Maintenance Department.
  • Any other reasonable request made by management.
  • Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5-S discipline are supported and adhered to.
  • Ensures he/she is in full compliance with the laws of Michigan and/or any other state, while representing the Company
  • Determining when to recommend overtime and/or shut down of machinery/equipment
  • Maintaining an optimum level of inventory without affecting customer demands
  • Accountable for the inventory accuracy
  • Communicating the reason for not meeting objective and next steps to rectify situation
  • Outsourcing of products and their timely return
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with various Customers and Contacts
  • Employees within Production Control, Production, Corporate Quality Manager, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving departments.
  • Suppliers for outsourcing and packaging

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years progressive experience in Production Control in the Automotive Industry with some shop floor experience, 5 years recommended.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS 9000, IATF 16949 and ISO14001 requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Use of effective analytical and problem solving skills when scheduling based on customer demands
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multi-tasks to meet deadlines
  • Computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of MRP and strong Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Community College Diploma or credits towards a Degree in Production / Inventory Control
