Our Client in Roseville, MI is looking for Warehouse Team Lead for a 90 day contract to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Control daily orders for Non-Production personnel to ensure daily pick log is followed.
  • Controlling the flow of Non-Production process orders and ensuring receiving processes are completed accurately.
  • Attend Weekly Team Leader meetings and assist in leading continuous improvements.
  • Ensuring high productivity levels through supporting Non-Production KPI’s and measurables.
  • Assigning tasks directed by Warehouse Manager while maintaining a positive and effective work environment.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills amongst the various departments to help promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Supports and leads 5S & daily cleaning schedules.
  • Must lead by example, be organized, and practice good housekeeping skills in all areas of the facility.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager in the training and cross-training of employees.
  • Maintains and strives for an error free work place and has knowledge of the quality management system.
  • Assist in daily Cycle counts and be a part of improving inventory accuracy.
  • Cross-train in all Warehouse operations.
  • Ensuring all stock movements are recorded correctly and that the team is following proper inventory processes using wireless warehouse.
  • Provide input to Warehouse Manager regarding performance.
  • Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Moving materials and items from Staging locations or storage areas to pack stations or to other designated areas.
  • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to the warehouse management system P21.
  • Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
  • Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic. This will include assisting Warehouse Manager in preparing the Warehouse for customer visits as well as keeping orderliness at all times.
  • Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Opening bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Weighing and counting items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • May be assigned/lead facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Report any policy or procedure violations to Warehouse Manager.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
