PLANT MANAGER - ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN AREA

A growing and profitable Automotive Supplier in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area is looking for a Plant Manager. Previous Automotive Plant Management Experience is Required. This Position will have full Profit and Loss responsibility. This is a Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide necessary leadership and direction to create and maintain a safe manufacturing environment that produces and efficiently delivers the highest quality products based on customer requirements while achieving maximum efficiencies.
  • Operates plant optimizing effective use of human, physical and material resources to guarantee maximum cost effectiveness.
  • Achieves product quality levels and service equal to or exceeding customer requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a manufacturing environment that promotes positive employee morale through effective communication, proactive employee relations practices, and a team driven focus.
  • Creates and maintains a work environment which achieves high standards for health and safety.
  • Ensures best practices are followed for new technology and systems, which enable the company to maintain or exceed performance standards and to be a leader in its particular manufacturing principles.
  • Formulates and operates within established budget and capital plan.
  • Participates actively in strategic planning as a member of the senior management team.
  • Improve quality through the support of the IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 program, and process improvement projects to eliminate the root causes of product quality defects. The cost improvements will be supported through small projects that will improve the overall yield of the process.
  • Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5-S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years experience in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry to include a minimum of 5 years previous Automotive Plant Management experience
  • Technical knowledge of current manufacturing processes and systems
  • Sound understanding of automotive requirements, e.g. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety specifications
  • Thorough understanding of IATF 16949 and IS00 14001 requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to lead, guide, and motivate all employees within the plant
  • Effective use of problem solving and decision making skills
  • Effective use of time and project management tools
  • Recognizes and/or assesses degrees of risk in plans and actions
  • Manages conflict and confrontation positively
  • Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Outlook. etc.
  • A College Degree is Preferred or equivalent work related experience with completion of various business Courses.
