Looking for a Sr. Production Control Planner/Scheduler for our client located in Detroit, MI. This will be a 90-day to direct position.

This position is responsible for Material Management and supports the Production Planning department, Inventory and Production Control through Electronic Data Interchange interphase activities such as a daily EDI reports, shipping requirements, ERP adjustments/reports. Maintain customer portals. Monitor Delivery Rating Improvement Verification.

  • Manages the planning and execution of MRP activities
  • Manages the supply base to ensure the accuracy of releases and on-time delivery
  • Manages user administration of MRP/ERP system with the plant management team. Maintains the integrity of the system data and provides ongoing analysis of data in order to determine corrective action is needed. Review and maintain transactions and reports in order to achieve and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and support customer web-based portals
  • Responsible for planning and overall execution of physical inventory, engages in actions necessary to implement and validate procedures, controls and systems that prevent, detect, and correct errors in inventory transactions by using preventive measures.
  • Adherence to lean manufacturing and material flow principals such a FIFO, replenishment frequency analysis and maintenance, use of water spiders, shopping markets, 5S, capacity planning to meet annual goals and objectives.
  • Working knowledge of AIM Enterprise Resource Planning strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive international and manufacturing technology quality assurance standards such as ISO, AITF and ensure support of compliance within Materials and Logistics.

At least 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management. Preferably Planning/Scheduling at Tier 1 and 2 suppliers using a general ERP software. Proven knowledge of manufacturing requirements planning systems. Must have detailed working knowledge of EDI, inbound and outbound (830, 862, 863, 856 and 842).
