Overview

The Director of Sales/Business Development will be responsible for the development, negotiation, and implementation of new project opportunities and partnerships with companies, by performing the following duties. Markets to new and existing customers through creation, development, and implementation of various business solutions. Collaborates with internal departments, such as Marketing, and Engineering, and external partners and allies in the development and implementation of strategies, plans, and business models. Seeks out and researches prospective projects through making phone calls, traveling, attending conferences, and utilizing the Internet. Provides support to upper management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development or alliance development projects. Assists with the planning of marketing and promotions, including advertising, special sales, and subsidiary rights. Provides input to the management team on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs. Provides guidance and support to junior business development staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market products and/or services.
  • Manages development of new project opportunities and quotes, obtain management approval of proposed projects, and coordinates quote submission to customers.
  • Manage project investment and profitability with support from engineering, finance and other activities.
  • Manages relationships with various prospects, clients, and partners in the industry.
  • Estimates demand for proposed projects based on market research data and consumer trends.
  • Researches and learns new emerging technologies and trends.
