Our client located in Metro Detroit is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst - Investments.

Position Summary

This position provides information and support to management by performing financial analyses and review of investment, revenue and cost data. Prepares investment and financial reports as requested by management.

Essential Job Functions

  • Reviews investment activity and prepares analyses summarizing investment allocation and performance
  • Reviews investment paperwork and assists in the preparation of subscription documents for investments while acting as liaison with external legal counsel, as necessary
  • Critically reviews presentations, pitch materials, private placement memorandums, partnership agreements, and related investment documents for new investments
  • Monitors cash levels for private equity vintages; prepares forecasts of capital calls; calculates necessary capital call amounts for individual vintages within private equity partnership; prepares documentation for capital calls to limited partners
  • Reconciles balances in investment partnerships between accounting records, internal economic reporting, custodian reporting, and third-party performance software
  • Prepares investment performance statements
  • Assists in the preparation of annual operating budget and analyzes monthly performance versus budget, and prepares periodic forecasts
  • Documents investment and management committee decisions
  • Assists in responding to various information and regulatory requests from investment funds and managers
  • Attends periodic investment fund annual meetings
  • Maintains and verifies underlying data, and builds and prepares analyses and reports


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous investment management and analysis experience preferred
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or similarly recognized designation, or progress towards such designation, preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong computer skills including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work independently with limited daily supervision
