Multi-Site Controller

Our client is in need of a highly-skilled and highly motivated Accounting and Finance Professional to fill the role of Operations/Multi-Site Controller. This person will report directly to the Finance Director and will provide leadership over all financial, accounting & compliance activities of the company’s North American Diversified Products division by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

This is a hands-on role requiring a proven leader to work at both a detailed task level and at higher management support leadership levels, with a strong background in accounting / finance, internal controls, and manufacturing operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, expertise, and dedicated focus on accounting and operational process consistency within all plants to ensure accurate and reliable financial and operational reporting.
  • Provide centralized Division support to Operations leadership including performing post CapEx reviews, developing common reports and templates, and consolidating operational reports and analyses
  • Render plant support to ensure standardized processes throughout the network of DP plants, including company policies, procedures, KPI reporting, etc.
  • Lead internal control and compliance activities including detailed reviews of plant Balance Sheets and Account Reconciliations, fixed asset disposals and transfers, and audit preparation and support
  • Monitor, assess, and report performance of DP business in Beverage Business Unit plants
  • Provide month-end close support via the consolidation and reporting of DP results by plant and segment at the Division level, and via the development of common reports and templates to help drive positive business results.
  • Contribute operations focused plant closure and acquisition support, and perform back-up controller responsibilities for month-end close as required
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and assist Finance Director and Operations VP & Directors with special projects upon request
  • Perform detailed tracking and reporting of Acquisition Projects in terms of accounting, operations finance, fixed assets, CapEx and PRR forecasting, SAP set-up, and plant-related issues
  • Support the development of robust plant budget and forecast processes, templates, and help facilitate consistency and coordination among Business Units and Operations Segment Groups
  • Cultivate an environment of strong internal controls and compliance with company policies at DP plants; leverage strong knowledge of business processes and procedures to communicate and train best practices throughout the enterprise
  • Perform detailed plant Balance Sheet Reviews including monthly Account Reconciliations and periodic testing of select key internal controls; review ASX certifications for control exceptions and corrective action where applicable
  • Facilitate successful ICE and GIA audits through internal assessment of control risks and potential deficiencies, training, preparation, and support throughout the process; monitor and track remediation activities through completion

EXPERIENCE:

  • 8–10+ years of experience in accounting / finance in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent), including 3–5+ years as an Operational Controller, Divisional Controller or Plant Controller
  • Exceptional IT systems skills and capabilities (SAP, BPC, BW, Business Objects, Microsoft Office, etc.), analytical skills and experience with complex financial models
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to train, coach, and mentor employees
  • Overnight travel (approximately 25%)

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required

CPA/CMA/MBA designation is a plus
