Our client in Grand Rapids is looking for a QHSE (Quality Health and Safety Engineer) The responsibilities of this role will be split 50/50 between Quality and Health &Safety.

SUMMARY

This role is to assist and maintain quality standards, which meet or exceed customer standards. Control and maintain a basis for Quality assurance, including supervision and documentation of various testing procedure, problem analysis/problem solving activities, and efforts for continuous improvement in methods and quality results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for meeting quality program goals through meeting program implementation timelines, sample submissions, including the gathering of compiling of all dimensional and certification characteristics or data needed to complete all sample reports.
  • Provide customer service through scheduled or impromptu customer visitations, timely problem resolution of customer concerns and permanent corrective action implementation to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • oversees the maintenance of all necessary records and current documents for all quality assurance functions. originates reports as necessary.
  • Oversees the product evaluation and supplier control processes and supervises the in-house inspection procedures and data analysis to ensure quality compliance.
  • Participates in Advanced Quality Planning and Continuous Improvement activity.
  • Maintain all program PPAP records in electronic data base.
  • Facilitate the reviews of in-house customer defects and warranty returns, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist and facilitate creation of visual boundaries.
  • Perform Layered Process Audits and IATF16949 & ISO14001 Process Audits as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXEPRIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree Preferred in engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality with at least 1-2 years in a Quality Engineer position.
  • ASQ Certification
  • Must be able to work under extreme deadlines
  • APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, and controls planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to make sound decisions
  • Must be able to train others successfully
  • Able to lead structured problem solving activity
