Our Client in Grand Rapids Michigan is looking for Controls Engineers

The ideal candidate, while knowledgeable in the general workflow of an engineering project, will have proven experience independently applying engineering principles and best practices to projects in the process, food & beverage, automotive and other industries. Projects include new control system design or retrofits. Participate in the proposal phase of projects. Lead small team of engineers for project duration while ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and schedule constraints.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • 2-5 years of Siemens Experience.
  • Mid Level Candidate
  • Machine Builder Background
  • Perform as a technical member for assigned project.
  • Develop controls hardware design from scratch using AutoCAD Electric.
  • Develop software design using Supplier software (such as Rockwell 5000, Siemens TIA).Application of the NEC, NFPA 79, UL and OSHA standards related to project subject matter.
  • Strict adherence to both client and department established procedures and work flows.
  • Work with Senior Engineer / Account Manager to maintain team members, roles and responsibilities, and goals at the onset of projects.
  • Report on progress made to assigned work.
  • Download and commission software on the customers site. Work with the customer to achieve acceptance
  • 3-5 years of related experience in Instrumentation and Electrical Controls.
  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) 3-5 years of systems integration experience, preferably in high-level controls engineering role is required.
  • Proficient in at least 2 of the widely-used control system platforms, including current and legacy Rockwell systems, Siemens and Schneider are a plus.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 20% throughout the year.
