Our Client - a large Automotive Manufacturing company - is looking for a Director of Quality to join their team. This is a critical leadership role overseeing multiple manufacturing facilities.

Quality Director

Responsibilities:

  • Develop departmental strategy and vision to ensure adherence to customer expectations.
  • Motivate, mentor and evaluate employees at each manufacturing facility.
  • Coach manufacturing plant leadership to establish built in quality mindset.
  • Lead the company-wide execution of quality control & assurance, planning and improvement initiatives based upon an established quality assurance management system.
  • Gather, analyze and manage quality related data to drive problem solving and improvement initiatives.
  • Organize problem solving initiatives across the organization.
  • Establish standards and metrics that support improved performance.
  • Evaluate and improve quality policies, processes and procedures.
  • Build a core team that operates to standards and promotes standardization across all sites through training and other support.
  • Establish quality improvement targets and manage execution of improvement activities to achieve the goals.
  • Lead quality incident investigations and fast response activities.
  • Perform manufacturing floor assessments of quality control and assurance.
  • Manage a departmental budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; technical focus preferred.
  • >10 years’ experience at the director or senior manager level in a demanding manufacturing environment focused on supplying the automotive industry.
  • Must have strong ability to drive process thinking and compliance to standards.
  • Working knowledge of quality system requirements
  • Experience with QA measuring and testing equipment
  • Must have very strong computer and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30-40% of schedule.
