Our Client is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their growing team.

This position entails Electrical, pneumatic and software design, build and troubleshooting of control system solutions for industrial equipment and automation products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop Electrical and Pneumatic designs in AutoCad Electrical 2014.
  • Develop PLC Logic designs from scratch in Rockwell RSLogix5000 (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), RSLogix500 (MicroLogix), CXONE (OMRON), Step7 and (Siemens) and/or GX Works (Mitsubishi).
  • Design Graphical User Interfaces with Rockwell FactoryTalk View Studio, CXONE, Step7, Visual Basic, EZAutomation and/or GT Works.
  • Machine commissioning: program start-up, debug and install of automation systems.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting equipment and validating the control systems to ensure reliability in operating environments.
  • Write documentation and system specifications toward fulfilling the scope of work set forth by the program manager.
  • Develop technical scope of work documents and estimate time and resources needed for the controls aspect of projects.
  • Understanding and implementation of customer specifications and standards.
  • Use various communication protocols, including Ethernet IP, Remote I/O, DeviceNet, and DH+.
  • Robotic software programming (ABB, Fanuc).
  • Programming of Vision Cameras and HMI’s

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training.
  • PLC software programming experience. Robotic programming experience ideal, but not required.
  • Controls hardware design and configuration experience.
  • Experience with custom assembly equipment and a good understanding of pneumatics.
  • Working knowledge and experience with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Travel required: up to 30%
