Our home medical equipment client is seeking a SUPPLY/ SUPPORT SPECIALIST on a direct hire basis for their office in Troy

In office position

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To process shipping orders for home medical equipment and supplies; process daily orders.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Enter new patients into computer system
  • Enters data on patient demographics and orders into the computer
  • Communicates with doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, sleep techs and insurance providers
  • Process supply orders
  • Insurance verification and collecting deductibles/coinsurance
  • Processing paperwork
  • Responsible for forwarding completed paperwork to the Warehouse in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with customers
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner and in accordance with company policies
  • Responsible for suggesting incremental sale items with supply orders

CUSTOMER SUPPORT PERSON:

  • Apply telephone communication in customer service
  • Wants to delight customers, above and beyond the call of duty
  • Has intimate knowledge of the customer’s needs
  • Has empathy for the customers situation
  • Is able to communicate clearly, both written and in speech
  • Talks in a way the customer can understand
  • Has a "thick skin" and is able to handle complaints, even when handling unpleasant customers
  • Works accurate and with eye for detail
  • Handles in the best interest of both customer and company
  • Has a pleasant, friendly style
  • Is willing to build a long-term relationship with the customer

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION OR KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 hours, annually, of continuing education
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of durable medical equipment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Medical background preferred
  • Brightree software experience a plus!

EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well a part of a team
  • The employee is required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The employee will work in an office area, and be provided with a workspace and a business computer system and phone.
