Our client in Clarksville, TN is in need of a Tooling Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the construction, alteration, and repair of a variety of dies, tools, fixtures, cavities and gauges meeting accuracy requirements, determining techniques and making decisions on metals, allowances, mechanism detail, fit and assembly to achieve maximum die equipment assembly, fixturing, and cavity life with minimum down time while under manufacturing time constraints and pressures.
  • Responsible for meeting the monthly budgets.
  • Responsible for determining the most efficient method of completing repairs of dies, tools, fixtures, cavities and gauges and responsible for scheduling PM's, routine service, and emergency repairs of tooling.
  • Track and meet tooling budgets they are responsible for.
  • Responsible for contacting tooling vendors for repairs in a timely manner, and securing competitive quotes for repairs being performed.
  • Responsible for tracking tool life and coordinating timely replacement to insure quality levels of customer products.
  • Responsible for replacement cavity process.
  • Required to pay attention to detail in performing work, checking work, and documenting to assure quality. Inaccurate work could result in damaged dies and tools, poor quality parts, or lost production. Performance has a major effect on successful plant operation. Errors usually are not discovered until equipment is in operation.
  • Carry out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
