- Initiate, plan and deliver Proof of Concept studies using data analytics/machine learning algorithms on manufacturing data. Lead implementation and validation of industrial solutions.
- Contribute to selection of external suppliers and software/hardware solutions. Manage relationships with external suppliers (e.g. data analytics startups or major players, sensor suppliers, consultants…)
- Develop methods to collect and clean/validate data from multiple systems for subsequent data analytics
- Provide technical leadership for peers in the area of data engineering, data analytics, and machine learning
- Track progress of projects to meet technical objectives, cost and schedule targets
- Document and communicate progress regularly, including presentations to high level management and other non-specialists in data analytics
- Monitor developments in digital manufacturing to identify new opportunities
- Engage with Universities/Research Institutes and specialist vendors to evaluate new solutions

Technical competencies:
• A masters-level degree in a relevant quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, operations research, computer science, industrial engineering…) is desired.
• A qualification in engineering or materials science would be a plus.


Experience:
• 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience related to data exploitation; plus, 4+ years working in industrial setting
• Capture and validation of sensor data from industrial equipment.
• Product/process improvement studies
• Problem solving through statistical modelling and machine learning (e.g., R, PYTHON, MATLAB)
• Demonstrated skills in selecting the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem
• Demonstrated skills in selecting good practices for data manipulation/cleaning
• Database environments (preferably including SQL)
• Data visualization

- Excellent project management, presentation and technical writing skills
- Experience of project management methods
- Some experience of automotive, aerospace or materials science industries is preferred
