Financial Analyst

Our client is a growing professional services firm looking to hire a Financial Analyst. The Corporate Controller will be a critical contributor to this plant’s overall financial success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares timely and accurate monthly reporting packages including variance analysis.
  • Develops and maintains financial models to assist in management review of operations.
  • Distributes and reviews monthly financial reports to the Brand Leadership team.
  • Oversees timesheet compliance and associated reporting / follow up.
  • Contributes to creating the financial insights for the state of the business, including client / department profitability and performance, staffing utilization and trends, and the identification of opportunities for optimization.
  • Assists Finance Manager in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Assists Finance Manager with client and new business pricing in accordance with established metrics.
  • Actively involved in the day-to-day decisions regarding all open projects as they impact finance.
  • Ensures Sarbanes Oxley and internal compliance and process are followed.
  • Fills a critical internal niche between Finance and Brand Leadership; combines skills from both disciplines.
  • Serve as the team’s subject matter expert by being the initial point of contact for questions on systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop Ad hoc analytics and presentations upon request.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a similar FP&A role. Advertising agency experience a plus but not required.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills. Ability to write advanced formulas in MS Excel to efficiently manage/streamline large amounts of data for reporting purposes.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Proactive, reliable, responsible, accurate with an attention to detail is key to this role.
  • Self motivated with a positive and professional approach to management.
  • Take ownership of challenges; identify problems and fix them.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff.
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle pressure.
  • Flexible and a good team player.
  • Must be willing to put in extra hours when necessary.
