A growing and profitable Manufacturing Company in the Warren, Michigan area is in need of a 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Good Benefits, 11 Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise designated shift production operations. Lead, direct, motivate and coach employees for the benefit of the company
  • Monitor daily work activities to ensure standards are met and compliance to established policies
  • Understand and comply with terms of the UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement. Participate in Step 1 of the grievance handling process
  • Enforce shop rule, company policies, and administer disciplinary action when necessary
  • Ensures compliance with the company’s safety and environmental programs
  • Arranges coverage for employee absences; May perform functions of supervised employees in emergencies and absentee situations
  • Participates in the monthly Safety Committee Meetings
  • Provides evaluation data related to employee performance. Lead semi-annual wage review meetings
  • Completes training documentation in compliance to established procedures and submits the documentation to Human Resources for recordkeeping
  • Participates in the hiring process with Human Resources
  • Direct and assist with the installation of production equipment
  • Direct and assist in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment involving, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, subsystems
  • Direct and assist in performing general maintenance, grounds keeping, installation and repair on all facility equipment and structure which may include (but is not limited to) electrical, welding, carpentry, pipefitting, painting, plumbing and HVAC
  • Process maintenance work and repair orders


To perform this position successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in maintenance with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • • Previous experience in repair and maintenance of hydraulics, pneumatics mechanical and electrical systems. Welding experience a plus
  • PLC and numeric controls programming and troubleshooting a plus
  • Maintains an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that meets the Company’s Insurance underwriting guidelines
  • Maintains an acceptable DOT Certification
  • Proficient in using computer and business software applications
  • Associates degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • Familiar with applicable federal and state safety standards
  • High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to employees on all levels
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
