Our client - an Automotive Supplier in Southfield, MI - is looking for a Sales Manager to join their team.


The Sales Manager is responsible for the development, growth, and management of all commercial aspects of the assigned automotive OEM and Tiered relationships for U.S. and Mexico. Improving the company’s market position by identifying opportunities and successfully increasing revenue while building key relationships with current and potential customers is a requirement for this role.


  • Prospect within automotive OEM Companies new programs by networking, cold calling, advertising, or other means of growing the business
  • Support new and/or existing local strategic automotive Tiered Customers
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and/or announcements
  • Plan and execute presentations that will lead to new OEM business
  • Evaluate business opportunities to ensure alignment with Company’s strategic vision
  • Work to align customer goals and business objectives to Company's ability to support those requirements
  • Assist Senior Manager of Marketing with OEM’s volume and value add sales price planning & forecasting
  • Effectively work with mid and senior level management, program managers, marketing, operations, and technical staff
  • Ensure data is accurately entered and managed within QAD


  • Bachelor degree in Business-related field or Engineering from an accredited university is required; MBA is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the Automotive OEM inner workings and a proven track record of growing business
  • Proven verifiable success with selling into multi-million dollar opportunities with 6-18 month sales cycles in a heavy industrial setting is required
  • Technical Sales experience preferred
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience functioning in a sales management role working with large original equipment manufacturers
  • Ability to travel locally 25% to 35%
