Our manufacturing client in Troy, MI needs to hire a BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR to provide support.

JOB TYPE: Full Time, Direct Hire

PAY: $40,000-$50,000 Annual

ENVIRONMENT: Position starts remote. Will return to a full time, in office role in the next few months.

SCOPE: Assist a busy centralized Human Resources department in administering employee benefits plans. Full responsibility for reconciliation of all benefits program carrier invoicing. Ensuring members are added and removed timely and that the payment is accurate. Provide ongoing support to Plant HR and company employees.

DUTIES

  • Assist with the administration of Health and Welfare Employee Benefit plans for active and legacy retiree plans.
  • Monthly reconciliation of invoices.
  • Maintain relationship with Benefit Vendors. Serve as point of contact for Employee and Vendor assistance in resolving questions or concerns about various plans.
  • Maintain benefits portion of HRIS system.
  • Work with payroll department to ensure benefit related information is communicated.
  • Support local HR on Benefit related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with guiding regulations and laws such as ERISA, Section 125, ACA, COBRA, and the like.
  • Participate in benefit related reporting requirements.
  • Conduct new hire employee benefit orientations.
  • Explain employee benefits by conducting meetings, preparing written and graphic announcements and explanations, distributing information regarding employee benefits, compensation, and personnel policies.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize employee benefit data and trends.
  • Keep benefit information confidential.
  • Participate in the design and development of tools to assist employees in benefit selection.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources, Business etc. required.
  • Software skills that include MS Office: Word, Outlook, and excellent Excel skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct work experience in Benefits Administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills along with a solid work ethic.
