Our Client in Monroe is looking for an Engineering Change Cost Estimator for a 6-month contract to hire

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for determining piece cost and tooling cost for Engineering Change quotations to customers

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Must have Roll Forming Experience-

We are looking for someone that has experience quoting roll forming parts, being able to look at a blueprint and prepare a quote or selling price cost for our customer etc. in order to get new business.

  • Work with appropriate Launch Team to determine the actual change and effect on price; i.e., processes and blank sizes
  • Send request to die shops and special machine sources for quotation, as needed
  • Send request to Purchasing for steel, purchased parts and finishes, as needed
  • Send request to the Packaging Team for packaging cost information, as needed
  • Send request to the Advanced Assembly Engineer for assembly cost formation, as needed
  • Evaluate and input all data in the computer-based quote program (QLM)
  • Also input manpower, standard burden rates to determine tooling and piece cost
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Submit and review the quotation with the Corporate Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • Attend quote reviews with management, as needed
  • Identify cost savings potentials and profitability improvement opportunities
  • Perform other essential functions, as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Four-year degree Engineering or technical field preferred ,but not required
  • QStrat, QLM Software experience preferred
  • Minimum three years' experience preferred with an automotive supplier
  • Experience in tool and die is preferred
  • Employee should be willing to remain current on latest processes in the industry
  • Not a Requirement, but if you are looking to eventually move up into a management role there is a potential growth opportunity.

SPECIAL SKILLS
Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Possess excellent math skills
