A growing and profitable Automotive Supplier in the Novi, Michigan area is in need of a Programmer Analyst. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilizing various software platforms, the programmer analyst will implement data and information tools to develop programs and dashboards to support the daily operation in the manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• University degree/College Diploma in Computer Science, or working toward such degree.

• SQL and DB2 knowledge is an asset.

• Python / Jython knowledge is an asset.

• Experience working in both an office and automotive manufacturing environment is desired.

• Extensive hands on experience with the analysis, evaluation, implementation, and support of application hardware, software and security systems.

• Technical background with an emphasis on the Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server and complex TCP/IP networks.

• Experience implementing and supporting third-party applications including server, client and upgrades.

• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload.

• Creative imagination.

• Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function.

• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements.

• Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.

• Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact.

DUTIES:

• Program and develop tools utilizing Ignition software.

• Reviews and analyses multiple data sources to present information to management team.

• Work with various programs to support information needs of the plant.

• Learn, understand, and support various applications used in the plant.

• Ensure systems reliability through redundancy, backups and security.

• Help train and support users on new applications, changes, upgrades and/or recommend external training resources and co-ordinate effective training schedules.

• Provide on-call availability in case of a work-related emergency that requires your immediate attention.

• Handle the day-to-day analysis, design, implementation, testing and integration of internal applications.

• Work closely with all internal groups, advising of the best approach for application development, enhancements, upgrades and integration.

• Manage projects to ensure that development target dates are being met, and that the internal customer is being informed of the status.

• Set development standards with respect to languages, application design, programming tools, procedures and documentation while collaborating with Company

• Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of the ERP software system (CMS).

• Focus on continuous development and improvement for all plant applications and databases.

• Coordinate with Company's IT groups as required

• Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001).

• Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed.
