Our client, a manufacturing company in the Bristol, IN area, is seeking an Assistant Controller to add to their team. The Assistant Controller position is responsible for assisting the Controller with the accounting operations of the business units, including supporting in the production of periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and following a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the reported financial results.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the Controller in all their financial reporting and analysis needs
• Prepare assigned journal entries as well as review & approve journal entries prepared by direct reports or peers.
• Assist leading month end close activities and act as liaison between central team and plant controllers’ team. Monitor & report on close progress to ensure timeliness and accuracy of submission of results to corporate finance.
• Prepare & review financial statements; balance sheets, income statements, budgets and variance analysis.
• Monitor Intercompany balancing & eliminations
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual balancing of books and monthly balance sheet account reviews.
• Prepare and analyze warranty lag tables & review specific reserves
• Prepare and distribute various centralized internal management reporting such as Daily Inventory activity by location, PPV analysis, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field
• CPA highly preferred
• Minimum of five years accounting experience, primarily in manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of the fundamentals of applicable government procurement regulatory requirements that affect accounting systems preferred
• Knowledge of forecasting and financial reports
• Knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method
