Responsibilities of the Sr. Service Manager

  • Provide timely, focused and appropriate 3rd level support to local IT teams and the Service Desk organization, within service SLAs and with strong customer focus, for messaging and desktop as well as authentication services on office and shop floor computers as well as mobile devices.
  • Engineering of innovative solutions to address business needs and service gaps, within the roadmap of Global IT infrastructure within Active Directory services, Microsoft Office365 and Cloud Services
  • Deployment of such solutions in collaboration with local IT teams or other central IT functions
  • Contribute to the service roadmap and life cycle by staying on top of the Microsoft product roadmap and technology
  • Develops, applies and maintains standards and related documentation for the services owned
  • Creates and maintains operational and support documentation, especially Knowledge Base entries, and end user guides
  • Implements software and configuration changes with minimal service impact and following Change Management processes

Requirements of the Sr. Service Manager

  • 10+ years of related experience in the role and technical domains, gained in a complex global organization
  • Proven track record in (remotely) supporting, troubleshooting and engineering following Microsoft technologies and products in medium to large-scale corporate organizations:
  • Active Directory Services, Federation Services, Certification Authorities and Group Policy Management
  • Azure AD with Conditional Access, Multi-Factor-Authentication and 3rd party Single-Sign-On
  • Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection and preferably also Check Point Cloud Guard Email Security
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager for OS and application deployments, patch management, OS upgrades as well as client configuration
  • Microsoft Intune for mobile device management
  • Experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services and ideally Citrix
  • Scripting with PowerShell
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications are a plus
  • Secure by design approach, “least privilege” and “zero-trust” principles to be applied and built-in every existing and future design
  • Working according to standardized ITIL
  • Guarantee service availability by reacting to breaking changes and fighting software obsolescence
  • Conceptual design and implementation of global authentication and authorization solutions based on both Microsoft Active Directory and AzureAD
  • Secure and extendable by design
  • Highly available and reliable
  • Fulfilling compliance as well as governance requirements set by internal and external regulations
  • Proven experience in deploying, maintaining and supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and the Office suite and Microsoft mobile applications
  • Familiarity with Windows Server is also required, as well as basic know-how on topics like LAN, WAN, VPN, DLP, DHCP, DNS, Radius
  • Fluent written and spoken English required. German and/or French skills are an asset.

  • Strong team player with experience in working in virtual teams who possesses strong communication skills (i.e. active listening, writing, presenting) and ability to interact at various organizational levels. Out-of-the-box thinker with a can-do attitude who consistently shows initiative and strives to achieve results through collaboration.
