Controller – 7+ years’ experience

Venteon is currently seeking a Controller. The ideal candidate will be a critical contributor to the company’s overall financial success.

The controller reports to ownership and is responsible for the company’s financial data to include preparation of company budgets and reports, fiscal tracking, forecasting, and allocations for compliance and accuracy. This position requires a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own in partnership with the owners, the responsibility for finance and accounting. Candidate must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills and should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Requirements of the Controller

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required, Master’s degree a plus

CPA designation a plus

Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience and responsibility

Strong computer and Microsoft Office experience

Excellent Microsoft Excel skills – including MS Query

Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) is very desirable

Experience interacting with outside auditors, insurance companies, and financial institutions

Experience with employee benefit, 401k, and profit sharing plans

Background in the service and construction industries, including percentage of completion (POC) accounting

VBA and SQL skills a plus

Responsibilities of the Controller

  • Responsible for the company’s financial data to include preparation of company budgets and reports, fiscal tracking, forecasting, and allocations for compliance and accuracy.
  • Hands-on strategic thinker who will own the accounting function.
  • Excellent leadership ability, strong financial acumen, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Foster a high integrity business culture and a goal-oriented, accountable work environment.
  • Supervision of staff
