Our manufacturing client in the Nashville, TN area (Clarksville) needs to hire a COST ACCOUNTANT to provide support.

JOB TYPE: Full Time. In Plant with safety precautions.

PAY & BENEFITS: $70,00 to $80,000 depending on education and skills. Health, Dental, Vision


Reconcile sales/inventory/cost/liability accounts. Generate routine journal entries. Conduct manufacturing cost studies/analysis. Provide detailed cost information to the Controller and Upper Management.


  • Plan, study, and collect data to determine cost of business activity such as raw material, purchases, inventory, and labor.
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, and liability accounts by customer type and by division.
  • Analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward. Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
  • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies by analyzing costs and profitability.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margin analysis by customer type.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs; provide various reports to management.
  • Make routine entries in the accounting system; maintain Cost Accounting System; maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
  • Assist in month end closing and prepare journal entries as necessary.
  • Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, etc.; Work on special projects as required.
  • Coordinate with various departments within the company including IT, accounts payable, accounts receivable, receiving, shipping, production, purchasing, and other to gain needed information.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business nice, not required.
  • Minimum 5Years of work experience as a Cost Accountant-for manufacturing.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to work Overtime as needed.
